Talisman Limited is the leader in interactive, multimedia blood
donor self-interview
software. Our Quality Donor SystemTM
(QDS) was the first software that lets donors complete the health
history interview from a touch-screen computer. Since 2007, QDS is
the first and only system that allows donors to interview from their
home or office computer over the Internet. Talisman is based in
Vienna, VA, outside Washington, DC.
Other Talisman products include the Talisman Phlebotomy
SystemTM (TPS) and Malaria
Maps. TPS uses wireless handheld computers to manage donors
during the phlebotomy process at a blood drive. Malaria Maps is
a free application that combines the CDC Yellow Books
information about malarial risks with the convenience and
user-friendliness of Google Maps.
For almost 10 years, Talisman has been the recipient of SBIR
research grants from the National Heart, Lung and Blood
Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The grants have funded both R&D on Talisman's products and -
equally important - in-depth research on efficacy of the
products and technology in reducing errors and increasing blood
safety.
Talisman will be exhibiting at the following scientific
meetings and trade shows in 2009:
